Looks Served: 12 Of This Year’s Wimbledon Outfits That Ruled Off-Court

by Laila Musleh

Tennis Fashion Week made a comeback. At this year's Wimbledon, athletic vigor wasn't only confined to the courts it was found off-court.

Wimbledon was a star-filled affair, drawing celebrities like Alexa Chung, Ikram Abdi Omar and Kim Cattrall from "Sex and the City''. Guests were even treated to the royal presence of Queen Camilla and Princess Beatrice seen in a floral Monique Lhuillier shirt dress; a touch of regal the court sides needed.

Wilmbledon's courts are saturated with fashion histroy. The 1920's introduced players to below-the-knee pleats. As the 60's rolled around, the norm carried shorter and quirkier hemlines.

Today, tennis-wear prioritizes functionality while maintaining the sport's timeless elegance. Mildly due to Challengers and tennis-wear's iconic storyline, tennis inspires everyday casual-wear of non-players. Wimbledon affirmed this synergy of fashion and tennis. Courtsides serve as a runway and guests arrive set for their catwalks.

Attendees brought on a new wave of statement pieces, elegance and mere class to the games -- polka dots, blazers and cashmere proved central to this year's championship. Easy to say, Wimbledon is not just a tennis tournament, it serves as a veritable runway, featuring houses like Ralph Lauren and adored icons on the courtsides.

Here are the best looks served off the court.
